Herman (old college roommate) sends along this soft-focus iPhone 7 photograph made while he and Patty, his spouse, were cruising in their Porsche somewhere along Central U.S. Route 71. To refresh your Herman memory, try this.
Almost didn’t go to this annual car show event, “Wheelin’ Walla Walla”. As usual, the lighting and other shooting conditions were horrific, making this kind of thing one of the most difficult you can try to work. But it turned out to be a record-breaker, with more than 650 vehicles on display. The most fun (and arguably the only real art) were the 15 – 20 rat rods. More cars of my personal interest were in attendance, including a handful of Porsches, a Lotus Elise, an early 427 Cobra, a late Shelby Cobra, a 488 GTB Ferrari (brought there by a small town farmer who allowed eager young kids to sit behind the wheel of his near-$300K fantasy ride). plus a few exotics like a Factory Five GT and a Murtaya. And so on. Also in attendance were hordes of dogs and their owners, eager for discussion and photographs; some examples appear in my just-for-fun little HHR collection. Here is just a tiny sampling of the vehicles.
