Street People and Their Effect
Leaving for my downtown workspace, a work crew is outside scooping up the vast quantity of leaves that have fallen in the neighborhood with the advent of winter. Friendly discussion followed but they didn’t tell me what was coming next …
Returning home for lunch, I come upon a blocked-off street and a new crew removing two trees — one beside our front door near the side gate and one curbside.
And by the next morning, little remained. Naked and vulnerable.
