rDay Three-Hundred-Eighty-Six: Hail to the Dog-King!
Started out nice enough, this late afternoon dog walk under mostly blue skies. Turned blackish pretty quickly. Then rain, then hail. Then home.
Charlie is more or less impervious to weather …

Monday: A walk downtown, and visit with Mark …
Tuesday: The roofers continue despite the rain, we grocery-shop despite the rain, we walk the Dreaded Beast despite the rain. And drop by 103.
rDay Three-Hundred-Eighty-Two
This morning we head up Bushnell Trail and on to Glass Hill Ridge to visit “Kim’s Spot” (which I had never seen) and have outdoor brunch. On the way, we walk and chat with the Bushnell property owner (a pistol-packing woman of well beyond my age who was quite friendly and welcoming but soon left us behind in her dust, but not before telling us of how a bear chased her dog and relating other incidents of her family’s encounters with cougar, wolves and other wildlife). We took in sweeping-vista views of the valley, easily encompassing all three peaks, Mt. Emily, Mt. Harris and Mt. Fanny. Turns out that Kim’s Special Spot affords the best views we have seen yet. Two or so hours well spent, even if the world doesn’t need yet another picture of Mt. Emily …

rDay Three-Hundred-Seventy-Seven
Just experimenting with a new old (nearly fifty years old, in fact) manual lens (handheld; I better get out my tripod). Had to be called into play as I keep dropping and breaking my stuff.
rDay Three-Hundred-Seventy-Five
Taking Devil-Dog and his wolfish essence for a morning pre-breakfast hike around Morgan Lake …
rDay Three-Hundred-Seventy-Four
Kim does some pruning and other yard work, then we take the Charlie-Beast for a six pm stroll in unauthorized territory.
rDay Three-Hundred-Sixty-Eight: Easter in Deal Canyon
A midday hike through rain, then hail, in Deal Canyon. Char-Less has an encounter.
rDay Three-Hundred-Sixty-Four
Arriving home from Seattle by mid-afternoon, we greet and soon thereafter walk Charlie.
Through the deserted (spring break) EOU campus, we return to the quiet, contemplative world a planet away from Seattle.
