A Lassie Kind of Story?

20140506-DSCN6947Kim reports that, early this morning, Charlie scratched at the patio door and when she let him in, he looked at her, walked inside, circled her and went back out, as though signalling her to follow.  Whereupon he led her to a corner of the deck, where a very young bird was sprawled, apparently dazed from having accidentally flown into the enclosed area.  So Kim picked up the bird, carried it out into the yard, and in a few seconds, it regained its composure and flew off.

When Somethin’s Not Right, It’s Wrong

Quoting from Bob Dylan’s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go” …

I suspect that my database is corrupted, and I am going to attempt to rebuild it. If you’re lucky, you might see this message. Or just try going to start page (http://whilebusy.com) and see what you can see.

May have to rebuild the site from scratch. Dunno.

This Morning’s Ghana Missive

Ivi updates me today, to quote an excerpt:

Jaaa, all is well, I very nearly have a complete schedule. Intro to Oral Literature, Intro to African Literature, Twi Language, Music & Dance (where I get to do some drumming), Traditional Dance (which is just a giant dance class), and History of Ghana in the 19th and 20th Centuries are the courses I’ve settled on so far. Most have only met once and we’re barely getting started (moving on Ghana time), so more info to come.

Haven’t gotten any tailored clothes or anything yet, still figuring out what my budget for that will be. I have to get taxis to go like anywhere in the city and so I’m kind of budgeting for experience over material things, at least so far.
Eating so well it’s unbelievable. I feel super healthy from all the fruit and water that I take in, and plenty full. No preservatives in anything. And, as I’ve said before, my host family cooks SO WELL. ugh. I love it.

The Natural

Self-proclaiming herself to be a “natural”, Ivi reassured me in a jocular way that she could handle my camera while I was driving.   And I wanted to show her how I amused myself with windshield photography while riding shotgun on long family trips.  Her output, herewith:

I was so taken by the last image in the series — the overpass photo — that I posted a couple of post-processed variations on my photography blog.
