Rojava

rojavaIn the course of continuing to follow the photographic work of Lynsey Addario, today I came upon this fascinating 11/24/15 New York Times Magazine piece  by Wes Enzinna about a little-known aspect of the mess in Syria.

NOTE:  NYTMag stuff is generally subscriber-only content, but I think you can click through on the “No, Thanks” option to see it on a one-time basis if you don’t want to subscribe.

Long Beach June 1972: Rolling Stones Concert

Found this bunch of miscellany on the run-up afternoon and evening of the Stones concert in Long Beach. Scalpers, police, hookers, Krishna people, photographers, fans …

(For a time I lived in the rather upscale Belmont Shore district of Long Beach, but spent most of my (photographic) time in the far more interesting Long Beach area known as The Pike, where tattoo parlors, sailors, prostitutes and all forms of grittiness prevailed. More to follow if I find some of those photographs.)
