That’s a proposal from the Nordic Council — representing Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, and the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Aaland — to keep its aging population more productive and able to cope with modern life.

As part of our customary Tuesday shopping cycle, we hang in the library until Farmers Market opens across the street. Among others, we see the famed Val of Val’s Veggies (if she looks slightly familiar, think of Doc Martin’s aunt in that PBS series) and run across Nik doing some shopping of his own.
Today, I drop in on my old workplace, EONI, the internet service provider (ISP). Talk with David, the friendliest tech support guy you will ever meet, and major gearhead/petrolhead. And I note the proximity of the overhead fiber optic line running through the alley between EONI and the adjacent Foley Building.
A dash to Farmers’ Market this morning, under a hard downpour. There, in the cold and wet, Denise (in red; mother of Marina) and her orchestral group were providing musical entertainment to a rather small audience. On tap tonight: Shakespeare at the Liberty.
Today the subject is “homes” and “shelter”.
First, we were somewhat astonished to find that a bird is building a nest on the top shelf, near the ceiling, of a storage rack on our deck.
Then, this afternoon it was off to visit the local Habitat for Humanity offices around a Web project that we have underway.
Now, you can meet the delightful Runa, a Bangladeshi computer expert who volunteers her time with Habitat.
