David Strom was at UCLA when I worked there in the 80s.  He was also writing a column for PC Magazine and other publications.  Since then, he has gone on in independent practice to become a noted expert in the computer security industry.  Today, his newsletter cites one of the latest threats and warns us again of the need to better manage our passwords, a subject that can never be overemphasized.  Read: https://blog.strom.com/wp/?p=7287

What Greta and Other Young People Are Doing

Today, youth around the world protested the inaction their elders and their political leaders are taking around climate change.  One of the foremost activists in this movement has been Greta Thunberg of Sweden.  Learn more about her here.  And we also saw this interview a few nights ago.

Exponential. Usually Not.

Here’s a piece on one of my personal pet peeves: misuse of the term “exponential”.

From Merriam-Webster:
