Like our family, did you consider David Attenborough’s BBC nature documentaries and explorations just about the best of the genre? Now, as Attenborough turns 90 years of age, a writer for The Atlantic catalogs and rates his entire 79-episode Life Collection. I’m sure we missed some of these, but by scouring Netflix and other streaming services, we may be able to catch up.

While driving up Mt. Glen Road on our way to the MERA trails area, we stopped alongside the road after Kim announced that she had seen a herd of elk on the far distant mountain side. From that vantage point, this was the best that 200mm worth of lens could muster:

Up early, quick snack, then head out to hike Mt. Emily Recreation Area (MERA) trails, despite mist and mild sprinkles, to find the “rock pile” and have an outdoor breakfast.
