Planète La Baule
Take a little trip to the French seaside. Fullscreen recommended.
A Google Hangout with Charlie and Ivi
This morning we connected for a lo-res Hangout session with Ivi — even Charlie got in the act. Ivi showed us her new winter coat and an unbelievable stack of four large hardback books she planned to read this afternoon as she works on her thesis. Which she says she has no worries about, and was smiling throughout.
Toshiba Lettuce
The Sky Is Falling – Epilogue
Donning the gators, I walk to work in about 9 – 12 inches of whatever it is.
The Sky Is Falling
Peeking outside just before bedtime Thursday night.
Rosetta and the Comet
Some pretty incredible photos, here brought together nicely in a New York Times piece, on the ESA (European Space Agency) Rosetta’s spacecraft deployment of a lander on Comet 67P/C-G this week. Check out more photos at http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/11/12/science/space/rosetta-philae-comet-landing.html.
The Japanese Fishing Dance
In her role as leader of her college’s ballroom dancing club, Ivi often interacts and performs with other campus dance groups, like the salsa club, and spends as much time as she can dancing at local Portland venues. Now we learn that she has joined with the campus Japanese dance group — in her happi coat — for a forthcoming International Students’ Day performance of the traditional Japanese fisherman’s dance/song. While we don’t know if the Lewis & Clark version will be recorded, I did find this YouTube vid hopefully to give us an idea of what it is all about.
