rDay Fourteen-Hundred-Thirteen, Part II
rDay Fourteen-Hundred-Thirteen
Waking up this morning to discover the snowfall over night. Cold, too: 18 F. Views out the back and front windows:
Bundling up, finding the walking stick and heading out through the immediate neighborhood on the way to downtown:
We encounter Patricio, a veteran of Iraq. He is manually clearing the sidewalks on the entire block to “help work off his PTSD” …
Making my way up Second Avenue:
And, finally, some views from my workspace west window:

Herman, Bound for Europe in 1964
For those of my readers/viewers who know Herman, you might find this image of interest. Here he is on board the USS United States at NY Pier 47, about to embark on his first European adventure, headed to the University of Dijon (France). Yes, I was supposed to join Herman and Geoff (at the camera), but things went awry for me (another story, not to be retold here). This was the cruise where Herman met a fellow passenger, David Hockney, undoubtedly enlivening his already-keen interest in art.
