Saturday morning comes with no rain (at last!) in the forecast, so we decide to catch the sunrise at Mill Creek, not having been there since Ivi’s Christmas visit.
Reaching the end of our trail, we turn around and see an encroaching fog bank.
The density of the fog makes for a totally different experience for the return leg, though the cold persists. Kim and I become separated, and it is not until the trailhead is near that I realize she and Charlie have been traversing the opposite bank.
Having walked several miles in the morning, I drive to my downtown workspace by mid-afternoon and return in the early evening darkness, still enveloped by fog.

The rains subside and make way for a bit of sun, so it’s time for a little drive up past the penitentiary and north of town.
Then it’s back to the workplace, where we can catch the setting sun through my dirty window:
Beyond Bird Photography Done Right
Kim alerts us to the 2018 Bird Photographer of the Year competition. Presumably, this competition will take place again in 2019, and we will be watching.
