rDay Sixty-Eight

This afternoon I walk down to the old workplace to investigate why my VPN (virtual private network) connection is failing.  On the way, braving strong winds and expecting the dark skies to erupt in rain at any moment, I am compelled to make many photographs of the cloudy conditions.  And I catch some traffic and streetside scenes along the way.  When I arrive, Maury shows me his new old Dodge truck he found/stole in Idaho via Craiglist, and David works the phones.  On the return, I note some wind damage half a block from home, but arrive in time to find Kim and Ivi, not surprisingly, in the kitchen prepping dinner.

Houston Report

Friend Herman sends along this photo, taken from a TV news display with his iPhone, as he is currently in his Kansas City home.  His daughter & son-in-law & grandkids live in Houston, where Herman also has a house.

Herman goes on to say:

This is a TV shot about a mile away from downtown Houston, taken with my iPhone. That’s Allen Parkway under the water going into down town. Memorial Drive is on the left.  Lots of water and only a mile away from the kids, although they are fine. Thank you every one who has asked, kids are fine, and our home in the Heights is OK too.
