Yesterday, Amazon published its fourth annual list of the most well-read cities. Well, “well-read” is defined by Amazon in terms of its own sales. So we see places like Portland not on the list. Why? Is it because Portland has more independent bookstores than most other cities? I see that Seattle and Vancouver both rank. See the entire list here.
